Machine Zone has added alliance city wall traps in Beta! Alliance city wall traps are built in much the same was as normal wall traps, by clicking on your alliance city walls.
The city walls have now been activated, which means you can upgrade them with the normal alliance city resources. The new walls follow the usual 5 upgrade levels, which is currently applicable to all alliance city buildings.
Each level increases your alliance city wall capacity by 10,000, maxing out at 50,000 trap capacity for level 5 walls. To start with you can only build the entry level traps Spike Walls.
Like all good things in Game of War: Fire Age, alliance city wall traps require research to unlock better traps and to improve their effectiveness.
A new wall trap research category has been added to the University and tapping it brings you the new research shown opposite.
You can research three further wall traps: Ground Fissure, Drop Cage and Thorny Vines. You can also research five new trap enhancements.
Enhancements include: Alliance City Trap Building Speed and Building Cost which naturally reduce the speed and resource cost to build your traps.
Alliance City Trap Attack, Defense and Health, which increase your traps stats, currently by 1% per level, but as always in beta this is subject to change.
All of the research uses the new alliance city resources.
The traps and their stats can be seen be seen in the pictures below. You will note that traps also add Might to your alliance city. Looking at the stats it would appear that the Spike Walls are equivalent to War Bricks, with no real strength against any units.
The remaining three wall traps appear to be the alliance city version of Tier 1 normal traps. We expect each will have a strength against Cavalry, Ranged and Infantry, with their own individual weakness.
Currently these strengths and weaknesses are not displayed in beta. The boosts shown below the stats simply relate to your alliance city wall trap research levels.
For now you can simply fill your walls with the new wall traps, which are completely useless. However, once this hits live we have no doubt all the top alliances will be busy maxing their wall trap research in anticipation of alliance city wars!
